Oleg Drozdov

He graduated from the Kharkiv University of Civil Engineering with a degree in architecture in 1990. Between 1991 and 1997 he pursued a career as an artist, and in 1997 he established the "Drozdov & Partners" architectural practice. The office works on a wide international scale and embraces the philosophy of critical artistic pragmatism. He curated the Ukrainian project “Monisto” at the Rotterdam Biennale of Architecture in 2005 and “Circumstances” at the Moscow Biennale of Architecture in 2012. He was also in charge of the "Terralogia" art project in 2015 and the "Patiologia" project in 2007, in Ukraine. In 2017 he founded the Kharkiv School of Architecture, the first private architectural school in Ukraine. Currently, he is a key tutor at the department of techniques and technology, and focuses on the search for a new understanding of tectonics. He is one of the experts of the Mies van der Rohe Award.
